Heba Al-Fayez
Initiative Lead

Heba Al-Fayez is a graduate student at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Department of Architectural Science. In her work, she seeks out opportunities to create playful spaces and connect with people from all walks of life. She has a special interest in craft, translating a love for model-making into architectural projects at numerous scales.

Heba first joined the TSA back in 2021 as a researcher for the TSA’s Virtual Tours, helping us explore and tour Guild Park and the Spadina Line. Wishing to continue sharing her passion for Toronto’s architecture with others, Heba then joined us as one of our TSA tour guides, leading locals and visitors alike through some of Toronto’s most iconic spaces. Outside the tour season, she helps oversee the TSA’s Kids and Youth Outreach programming as an Initiative Lead, working to strengthen the TSA’s connections with youth across a variety of programming.

I started volunteering with the TSA after my first year of (online) architecture school in an effort to learn more about architecture in the city, even if I couldn’t explore it in person. From the beginning, I felt right at home with so many passionate people who love learning and teaching others—and I haven’t left since!
